Distilling big data for end users to prevent identity fraud

Challenge

Every year, criminals steal the identities of millions of people and submit those stolen identities to get fraudulent tax refunds from the government. Agencies did not have a way to stop it.

Action

I led a team of analysts and product professionals who worked closely with investigators, auditors and call center workers to distill petabytes of data and then create and roll out a multi-channel product.

Result

Since the product launched, over $600m in fraud has been stopped, millions of identities protected and over $40m in revenue generated.
